Welcome to the Vertical Drop Snowboard Department Winter 2006/2007

The web page has some different looks this year. You can go to the link for each of our manufactures and find out what we think of each company, see what models we do stock and go to the link of the manufacturer to get all the tech data you would ever need. Of course you can always come into the store and shoot the breeze with the staff, flex the decks and try on the boots with our pro staffs help. You will notice on the web site that we have an e-mail sign up. This will give you first shot at sales and when we get in new product, you’ll be the first to know. You will not find prices so you have to come in anyway or call to check on what’s current.

Fit Your Boots Correct!

Hey! Your feet keep hurting and are cold while your riding? Have you ever wondered why? Most snowboarders are not buying or renting the right size boots. This wrong sizing will lead to all kinds of cramped and cold feet. Read the following and you will find out how to get rid of that nagging pain and eliminate cold feet most of the time.
Picture?

When you get to the store let the salesman help with the sizing. Don’t just blab out a sneaker size, let them actually measure both of your feet to see what size boot you might be. Most of the time this is smaller than those clodhoppers you are tripping around in and sometimes they come out the same. When he brings up some boots to try on have them take out the inner boot and place your foot in the outer shell. With your toes touching the front you should only have about an inch of room behind your heel. Much more than that and the boots will break in huge. Now put on a snowboard sock, no cotton athletic socks. Cotton stays wet which will chill your feet down real quick.

Put the boots on, don’t worry about the toe touching the front until you lace them up snuggly (not over tight) and give it a couple of flexes. You should walk around a while and give those liners about ten minutes to start to feel good. Now you can re-lace the boots to snug it up. If you can feel the front but still move the toes around a little you have the right length.

When you get them the right size you do not have to keep tightening the laces or your bindings during the day. This will keep your blood going to your feet and will also help greatly in deck control. If you still have foot problems there are insoles to match your foot better than the one that comes with the boots. The heat molded custom ones are worth every dollar you pay to increase the comfort and control even more. Hey if you take some time to do this and listen to the shop person your going to have a much better time during your session!
